A Paediatric Career with Room to Grow

Little Sparrows Therapy is an owner-operated allied health practice with an 11-year history in Cairns. We help children and people with a disability to build skills and confidence, working closely with the families who support them.

We’re welcoming occupational therapists for a January 2027 start, with full-time and part-time opportunities. Whether you’re graduating in 2026, building your experience or considering a senior role, we’d love to hear from you.

Starting Your Career?

You’ll have access to 1:1 supervision and mentoring on a weekly basis with a senior Occupational Therapist. Your induction and initial caseload will reflect your experience and support needs. Mentoring can help you develop your clinical reasoning, plan therapy, write reports and navigate conversations with families.

Alongside OT-specific clinical support, co-owner Kimberley Campbell, a senior speech pathologist with 12 years' experience, can provide cross-disciplinary peer support. Fortnightly workshops give you further opportunities to learn and contribute, with topics selected by the team. Bringing Experience?

We welcome OTs who want clinical autonomy, opportunities to develop their interests and a voice in how services are delivered.

If mentoring or clinical leadership interests you, we can discuss responsibilities and remuneration as part of your role. Experienced clinicians who want to focus on direct clinical work are equally welcome.

Your Work

Your work will focus on children’s participation in play, learning, self-care and everyday routines. Depending on your skills and interests, this may include sensory regulation, fine motor development, handwriting and daily living skills.

You’ll work with families and educators across clinic, school, home and community settings, with caseloads reflecting your competence and agreed scope of practice.
